In most instances, those who have typed themselves from reading a book about The Enneagram, and many who have been typed by others, have discovered with Aruna that these typings were incorrect. Even the online tests can give you a misleading result, because it is ego that answers the questions, and ego does not recognize its own shadow.
***Aruna has been a student of The Enneagram since 1992. She has studied with Eli Jackson Bear and did The Enneagram Institute's professional training with Don Riso and Russ Hudson. She has taught classes about the Enneagram types but prefers to use it with primarily with coaching clients to advance their Awakening.
THE NINE TYPES
Each type is a road map of an ego/personality structure created by a distorted perception of a holy idea. No type is fixed in its expression, as human nature changes moment by moment. The Enneagram shows us how and why these changes occur and helps us identify the hidden motivations that cause us to suffer. As we move closer to being our True Nature, we behave very differently than when we are expressing our "average" or "less healthy" patterns. Identifying and recognizing how we are developing on The Enneagram map is an opportunity to bring these unconscious motivations to awareness, release them, and respond to life instead of react to it.
