Channeling can be done by anyone who is able to set aside their ego/mind and be open to receiving what their spirit guides want to communicate to them. This term can also refer to the mind receiving  insights and inspirations from our Higher Self/True Nature. Channeling is accessing wisdom and information that the limited mind is not aware of.

Since channeling is communication from the unseen world, learning to discern the level of consciousness it is coming from is of primary importance. There is no benefit to being guided by the spirit of someone stuck between dimensions who wants to use you for their own purposes. The highest level of awareness is the only awareness that can be beneficial to you and those you share it with. Discerning the level of awareness of channeled information can be done by looking for these clues:

• Is the message unconditionally loving?
• Is there any negativity about you or anyone else?
• Is there any attempt to control or manipulate vs support and assist?
• Does the message feed anyone's ego with comments about specialness?

If any of the last three are present, toss the message and clear yourself so that you can be at a vibration compatible with a higher level of consciousness. Like attracts like, so the clarity and vibration of the channel will determine what level of awareness can be channeled. Clearing emotional baggage, negative beliefs and attitudes and unconscious patterns of self-limitation are needed for an Ascended Master or Archangel to make contact. There are devious imitators, so learning how to detect them is also key.
