Mind Games

Words have meaning because we give it to them. The same word can have more than one meaning in the dictionary, and at the same time, mean absolutely nothing to someone who doesnÕt speak your language. When you move to another country, you just might hear someone say something in English that means one thing to them and something else to you. For example, when I lived in London people were frequently saying, Òknocked up.Ó They could not understand my reaction to this statement, because to them it had nothing to do with becoming pregnant.

When you visit other countries you might see words on billboards that cause you to react, even though everyone around you doesnÕt even take notice of that word. In Uruguay there is a department store called TITS that is advertised in a big way. Now, this is a word that I have never used. Americans will know why, but those of you from other cultures may be wondering what I am talking about. For those who are wondering, in the US this word refers to a part of the female anatomy that men talk about with the use of this word but women generally do not, or maybe I should say that most women my age do not.

It was obvious that mind had given this word the charge, and it had nothing to do with the word, which was, in itself, totally neutral. That same word means nothing to those who are not American.

Words also have an energetic effect that we give to them. We transmit a certain kind of energy into mass consciousness when we think, and the words we think convey that energy because of the meaning we give them. This is why there is power in positive thinking.

But today I want you to consider the possibility that the intentional use

of specific words you consider ÒpositiveÓ, and the intentional exclusion of specific words you consider ÒnegativeÓ, are both keeping you from Awakening. This is because you rely on the mind to pick and choose what you say, and to do that the mind is constantly making judgments: this is good and this is not good. And as long as the mind is actively doing this you are living from mind, not the wisdom of the heart.

To Awaken, we must take back our power back from the mind so mind has nothing to do and becomes quiet. As long as the mind is kept busy judging every word you intend to say, it will remain fully in charge of your life. This is the game the ego-mind plays. It convinces you that you must keep it actively involved in your life if you are going to achieve your heartÕs desire – in this case, a spiritual Awakening. But it is leading you astray, because Awakened Awareness equals ÒNo mind.Ó

The way to liberation is to STOP THINKING, so that your True Nature can spontaneously speak all the words it decides to use without ÒyouÓ caring one iota about what those words happen to be.
