Health and Consciousness

When the body throbs with pain, shivers with fever, and does nothing it can usually be counted on to do, does this indicate a spiritual cause, or mean that more emotional clearing must be done in a person’s consciousness? It can, but illness is not necessarily an indicator of an imbalance in an individual’s psyche.

One New Age premise that keeps many stuck in ego’s grip is the concept that enlightenment includes perfect physical health. This idea grew out of a misapplication of the wonderful work of Louise Hay, whose 1984 little blue book, Heal Your Body, gave us a chart of probable causes for physical ailments and affirmations to remedy them. This was a great revelation to many of us, and today’s mind/body medicine has become an acceptable approach to physical and mental health as a result of this groundbreaking work. And as wonderful as this shift has been, concluding that it is the definitive way to resolve dis-ease is a limited view of the relationship between the body and consciousness. That is partially because it addresses only “individual” consciousness.

Following that way of thinking, it seems like a logical conclusion that if the mind can create and heal physical illness, the enlightened state of Being, called “no mind,” would transform the body into perfect health. So why then, do we have a long history of enlightened Masters that have had to deal with major illness such as diabetes, heart failure, strokes, cancer, etc.?

One theory is that they take on the negative energy of their students, volunteering themselves to be vessels for transmuting the world’s negativity. Another theory is that, just by the very fact that they are still in human form their karma is not complete! Both are possibilities, but still not the whole picture.

Based on all the work I have done on myself and others in the field of personal development and spiritual awareness, I agree that consciousness and illness are related but not in the direct cause and effect way most humans perceive this relationship. Finding mental resolution to inner conflict can change one’s health for the better, but when an Awakening occurs, the ego’s personal story disappears, and there are no longer any inner conflicts causing mental or emotional disturbances. So now, absent the inner conflict, the cause of illness has more to do with the body’s genetics and environment than it does with its thinking. Predisposition to an illness is part of what the soul chose in the parent selection process. Some karmic conditions are balanced by the “accidents” that occur in life; as an example, great and small physical challenges can be the stimulus used to evolve into higher consciousness. But much of this pales in relevance when you consider the part that environmental toxicity now plays in our modern technological world.

Vibratory Frequency

My own experience of shifting into higher consciousness is a testimony to refined, advancing, sensitivity. In less conscious days, eating MSG and other artificial chemicals in food was not a concern. Today, these same additives can throw this body into anaphylactic shock. And then there are the microwaves that we are all being incessantly bombarded with, even if we don’t own a cell phone or wireless computer. There is a “spiderweb-like” net of mixed frequency waves blanketing our neighborhoods. These vagabond emanations penetrate the walls of our buildings and homes, subtly disrupting our electrochemical and electromagnetic body systems.

What has kept me down and out physically for the last month (and probably caused the weakness which triggered a long dormant virus to gain temporary dominance in my body), was an overdose of WI FI. This has nothing to do with individual consciousness, but it says a lot about the “soup” of density that mass consciousness has engendered in our cities. There seems to be no general concern about how technological expansion, genetic and microbial alterations to our food and water supply, or mass consumption of prescription medications and radiation that are affecting the health and general wellbeing of  humans and the other living beings on this planet. Illnesses created by these elements are all about this lowering and disruption of the healthy vibratory frequency of us all.

When I spoke to the head of the YMCA about how their new WI FI system was affecting my nervous system, I was told that this was just a weird idea on my part; after all, “they are putting WI FI in hospitals” which means there is nothing wrong with it! It is common knowledge that many people who go into hospitals for simple procedures end up dying. Why does the general public believe that those who work in hospitals have all the right answers about what is good for our health? If this were true, wouldn’t all doctors, nurses, medical technicians, etc. be examples of excellent health?

Consciousness and Physical Health

The question of how consciousness affects health has to be addressed from the perspective of the individual being, immersed in the global sea of mass consciousness. A spiritual Awakening dissolves the ego; it does not eliminate our humanity. The human body is at effect of negativity, be it what is generated in our own inner world of conflict, or the world around us. It is all interrelated. Not only are we all One, but our collective consciousness is part of that Oneness, and we are all touched by it. Those who have elevated their vibration with personal development and spiritual expansion are more sensitive to the effects of having their body bombarded with less compatible vibrations; and yet, that does not mean that those who are less in touch with their sensitivity, go about their daily lives unaffected, the majority are just not aware of what is happening to them until the effects build up enough that they get diagnosed with high blood pressure, or one of many other  stress related conditions. Then in their deficient state of awareness they take artificial remedies and chemicals, foreign to the body to improve the situation, only to have their vibration lowered even more, pulling them deeper into the density of the general mass consciousness.  Be aware, incompatible vibrations cause physical disturbances, whether we are consciously aware of them or not.

How Does an Awakening Fit?

How does someone who has Awakened deal with physical illness? Awakening is accompanied by a liberated and heightened awareness. An Awakened individual deals with the body in a simple, loving and yet completely detached way: peacefully, fully present with what is happening in each moment, and with neither a mental dialog about it, nor an emotional reaction to it. The “quiet mind” is not searching for a “spiritual cause,” and it is not engaged in mental activity to affect the situation. There is probably a preference for better health, but this preference is merely a passing thought, not an energetic resistance to present circumstances.  If diet changes are called for, this is an adjustment that is easily made, as there is no mental or emotional attachment to material things, including preferred foods. Physical addictions may make the release of certain foods difficult but, to a quiet mind, the internal pulls and tugs are just another physical experience, and are not allowed the influence to control the situation because there is no longer an emotional component being compensated for.

Being aware of the body’s heightened levels of sensitivity makes it easy to choose the most supportive environment or most natural remedies for healing. When chemical medication seems to be the best solution, it is utilized without a negative thought. “Inner knowing” about what is most appropriate to the situation, takes the lead over what may remain of ego’s beliefs and attitudes.

Those who are reading this newsletter are part of a personal and planetary Awakening. As more and more Awakenings occur we, as divine expressions of the One, will collectively raise mass consciousness to be more loving.

Unconditional love for ‘all that is’, is divine consciousness; those who are unconditionally loving vibrate at the highest possible frequency. To increase the frequency of the mass consciousness we must help to Awaken all who are here to BE the full expression of their totally loving True Nature. The more of us there are with  heightened sensitivity will bring awareness to the mass consciousness of those things that are unloving to our bodies and our world. As our numbers increase, the love quotient of Oneness will expand until it eventually dissolves the density we now struggle to live with.

As we focus on individual and planetary Awakening, we can either boycott, or evolve a new relationship to those things that are potentially harmful (unloving) to our bodies and our planet, and utilize those things that enhance human and planetary life. (ie I recently acquired a little machine that completely neutralizes ELF and geopathic disturbance in my home). The misconstrued attitude: “it is as it is so we must adapt”, will only allow the harmful (unloving) elements, marketed to line the pockets of greedy merchandisers, regardless of how their products affect our health and wellbeing, to lower our individual and collective vibration until we become physically and mentally mutated into complete dysfunction. The stakes are high! We cannot allow these unloving energies to diminish or even put out our light.
